Jane Bowie's Piano Studio Policy

The first step for beginning lessons with me is to arrange a meeting to discuss expectations and answer any questions.

A priority is to have a time for practice at least five or six days a week.  A quiet space for practice is also important as well as an appropriate instrument.  Digital pianos are acceptable but must be at the proper height with proper seating, and have weighted, touch sensitive keys to develop correct technique.

An acoustic piano should be kept in working order and tuned regularly for the student to obtain the best results.

Payments for lessons are divided into monthly payments  due on the first lesson of the month. This can be discussed at our meeting.

The opportunity to perform for others is available to all students and encouraged but not required.
