My love of piano started with my grandmother’s old upright piano and continued until my "career" ignited with the purchase of our neighbor's old clunker for $15.  After many lessons, recitals, and years on the bench, I earned a Bachelors in Piano Performance (summa cum laude) from UMBC as well as a Masters in Piano Performance (summa cum laude) from Towson University.

My teachers have included Reynaldo Reyes and Virginia Reinecke, both of whom graduated from the Paris Conservatoire, and Jose Ramos Santana, graduate of Julliard.

I have performed in numerous solo and ensemble recitals on piano and pipe organ, composed for significant productions for Maryland Public Broadcasting, and have performed in Javanese, Balinese and Korean ensembles.

From 1996 until 2020 I was the general music teacher for Resurrection-St Paul School, which included directing the choir, leading the entire school in Christmas performances with handbells, xylophone ensembles, recorder groups and singing, and developing a contemporary band for the school masses.

As a church musician, I have led Regional Advent Lesson & Carols celebrations, Contemporary ensembles, Youth Handbells, Adult Handbells, Christmas Pageants, brass ensembles, and Youth and Adult choirs.

My piano teaching career has spanned more than two and a half decades with students who have performed on the competition level as well as just for fun. I love and encourage study of classical music because it lays a solid foundation of music theory and piano technique. But I do value the importance of popular music and can incorporate that into the student's repertoire.

My goal is to pass along what I have discovered and enjoy from my years of piano performance to my students.  Please contact me if you are interested in beginning lessons.
